Wow

With the exception of having to produce a full sketchbook's worth of work overnight for Photography, this week has been sick.
Free gig tickets are always good and seeing the Backstreet Boys was SO FUNNY. It brought back all the memories of the songs I used to love when I was about 6 that I never dreamed I would get to see live. They had it all: dance routines, matching outfits, microphones on their heads. Priceless. In every sense. <3
Bonfire night was so funny, in a ridiculous way. We met everyone at HP and there must have been at least 30 of us if not more. Me and Kyle made up some ridiculous game when the fireworks started and it was actually a mud bath. But it was worth it. I wore wellies.

ANYWAY:
Chicago wasn't the best performance I've ever seen at the theatre but it wasn't one of the worst either. However, considering it's a show about dance, it wasn't up to much. I've seen better dancing (and singing) in plays that don't even focus on the dance aspect, such as Mary Poppins. It was also pretty confusing and the costumes were a tad plain - they didn't really embrace the 'sexy' feel of the show. They looked cheap and they were plain black.
However, the characters were very likeable and that's what made it to be hone
st. They each had very different personalities and they were certainly some very amusing parts to the show. Worth 20 quid.

The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus was actually amazing. A work of art.
Trippy and confusing, a bit like Alice in Wonderland, only far better. The acting was faultless, with Johnny Depp, Heath Ledger, Jude Law and Colin Firth all giving amazin
g performances and Lily Cole proving that she's more than just a pretty face. The costumes were beautiful, the quotes inspiring and although the plot was very confusing, there wasn't a moment when I switched off or got bored. If I'd known what it was about before seeing it, I probably wouldn't have as it sounds silly but it somehow seems serious when viewed.
