Satanism

(Not referring to LaVeyen/humanist satanism here, I'm referring to the real satanism, the religion that actively worships an entity called satan. I am aware that his name should have a capital S as it is a proper noun but that would suggest respect and that is something I'm not willing to give).

Now, many atheists, agnostics or rebellious teenagers turn to satanism for a laugh or to cause controversy and rebel against a Christian upbringing or whatever. They try the rituals, get drunk and make Ouija boards for a laugh or try to call up satan and his demons in some other way, some even sell their souls in a moment of anger or lust, not really believing that anything bad will come of their experiences. Now, if you're a true satanist and you know what you're getting yourself into then this blog isn't for you. This blog is to warn the people that dabble in satanism for a bit of a laugh, and pretty much all I can say is DON'T.

If you do choose to call up satan then you WILL have experiences, and not the ones you're looking for. Just as good and pure energies exist, so do bad ones, powerful ones that naive teenagers should not try to mess with. Those who open their minds to satan WILL experience him. Also, unlike other religions, satanism is one that you can't really turn your back on because once you let satan into your soul and your heart and start allowing him to make decisions regarding your relationships and lifestyle and whatever, he becomes more powerful.

You may think that I sound crazy saying all this but I'm not talking about a red devil with horns and a pitchfork, just as I don't talk about a bearded man sitting on a throne in the sky when I talk about God. satan is not a person, he is an energy. By this I mean that whenever someone steals something or cheats on their partner, there is a moment just before they commit the sin where they are tempted to commit it and that temptation is this negative energy influencing them, just as when someone feels an inner peace or decides to do a good deed they are being subtly influenced by a good energy (God). My personal belief is that we all have a good energy (God or our "conscience") and a negative energy (the devil) acting inside us all the time and it is our choices and our choices alone that decide which energy will colour our soul the most and which will be the dominating energy.

Think about it, the more you get into fights and take drugs and sleep around, the more you will want to. These things colour your character. It's the same with money. The more you have, the greedier you become. If you abstain from these things in the first place then chances are you won't really be as tempted to do them: the more you feed these energies, the more they grow, hence why jokingly giving your soul to satan and having a "fuck it" approach to life can be akin to watering the seeds of a very poisonous plant and allowing it to grow tall and crush the beautiful plants.

I'm not asking you to believe in God. I'm not even asking you to believe in satan. I'm merely asking you to leave well alone if you do dabble in "witchcraft" etc. Please.

I appreciate you have a your own views and your own beliefs but... you are not a metaphysician. You are confusing several separate things. Society, with human biology and the supernatural. Addiction and temptation are things specifically to do with the way our brains work. Our brains become addicted to the rush of blood to the head. This rush occurs predominately once. Your mind glorifies this and subsequently seeks for a reoccurrence of that rush. This is the pathways for addiction. Temptation is only apparent if you believe what your doing is wrong. Wrong is a point of view. It is something constructed by society. Society is the basis for most of our fears and learnings and indirectly- what we have not learned and cannot explain becomes the supernatural. Your opinions mimic that of karma. Yet you try to enforces the laws of karma through predominately western/christian theism. The problem is this... to set out and say that the devil is responsible for our bad decisions and that god is responsible for our good decisions (no matter what your opinion on what the god/devil is) you are in fact subtracting the blame from yourself and denying the responsibility Karma requires. If you stop viewing things which are always in your control as things that are beyond your own physical power- you can deny yourself from resolving your problems and can in fact make yourself even worse. For example, take a heroin addict- your theology within this statement- would make him a 'Satanist' and indicates that the power to stop using these drugs is out of his hands. This in turn stops him recognising both his problem and how to resolve it and condemns him to death. However in reality- when people realise that they are responsible for what has happened- that the energy or god or demons are within themselves- then they can resolve their issues, and can -depending on their will power and how they confront their fears- lead to a full recovery. To say that someone who dabbles WILL fall into a metaphorical devils pit, is however not true. Many people try drugs or steal something, or cheat- it doesn't mean they will continue to do so. To fear what you do not understand is unproductive and a catch 22. The point of life should be that you live, and to be alive you must feel- feelings are more than just happiness and joy - for without the darkness you would soon forget the light. The same goes to Satanist's- you are stating that what they seek is darkness and hate and that this is exactly what they will get. Well doesn't that suit their requirement. Satanism and theism in general is all about comfort- routine, meaning and self assurance. These are the same reason many drug addicts inject themselves. Yes there is a link but to say that this is 'god and temptation' is merely satisfying your own self assurance. We all have 'good and bad energy' its called being human. Its to do with the way our minds work. It's completely within our own power- and we all choose to deal with being human in different ways. If we cannot search for our own way- by trail and error then what are we supposed to do... believe you? In the present we always make a decision built upon our own past, and our past with in our mind is created by us. Therefore our decisions are always correct to us at that present moment, otherwise we would not do them. Its only after, when this becomes our past- and via others- that we can then change our minds and say we were wrong. Metaphysics are not black and white. Yet you deliver them that way. We all say 'we are entitled to our own opinions' but that isn't true because we always believe we are correct in the present until the future proves otherwise. I'd suggest perhaps to refrain from attacking a minority such as Satanism or any other theism without bearing in mind that you do not understand them. Therefore, you will automatically fear them- and you will be biased. Much like i am biased. Because I am me. I am Matthew Hirst. Thank you, goodnight. x

I only have 2 minutes to write a reply but you have completely misunderstood what I am saying. I am not saying that the devil is responsible for what we choose to do, anyone can choose to commit a crime or whatever, I am merely stating the widespread belief that the devil is not a red man with horns but a force that seeks to tempt people into doing things that are bad for themselves or for others. Ultimately we choose what we do but we are influenced all the time by not only our friends/parents/society but also by this negative force that I refer to as satan because i am a religious person and the name satan is the label that i have attached to this negative energy, just as the name God is something i have attached to a good energy that i believe to exist.
as for being condemned to death, i dont believe in condemnation as there is no condemnation in Christ, if you do a bad deed and ask for forgiveness or turn your life around then no, you will not be sent to hell, the whole essence of "hell" is that if you carry on doing harmful and bad things your whole life, they will ultimately blacken your soul and you will be left "godless", but like i stated, i dont care whether you believe in God or satan, i was merely advising people against dabbling in satanism for a bit of a laugh, i was trying to warn them against entering into something that could potentially harm them.
i have nothing against satanists who know what they are doing, it is their choice, but i have dabbled in satanism and the occult and i know that it made me very unhappy and i had some very unpleasent and scary experiences as a result of this, i was just warning people that its not a joke to mess around with, its something that should be treated with respect and not be taken lightheartedly.
and i never claimed to be any sort of scientist, this blog was not to boast about the psychology behind addiction (of which i know full well being a psychology student), it was to do what i have stated above.
but all the same thank you for your comments, i am aware that sometimes i dont make myself very clear and that of course not everyone will agree with me. i just want to make it clear NOW that this is not a blog about religion or what i believe in, its just a warning and if it can stop one person from meddling with satanism than its done its job x.

I actually did state that it is "your choices and your choices alone" that determine how your character will be affected, and this isn't me being a boring Christian and trying to warn people against satan, I actually sourced this information from a satanist website: http://www.angelfire.com/empire/serpentis666/Outsiders.html x

This is my final final comment before you reply (I keep forgetting to put things, sorry!). You said that by my argument a heroin addict would be a satanist. Just to clarify, someone that does bad things is not a satanist. This blog was on about the people who take part in satanic rituals and actively worship the devil, not someone who uses drugs. You're getting confused and making me out to having said something that I haven't.
