Social networking: how much should we reveal?

It seems like there's two perspectives on this and everybody's decided on one of them. Some people choose to reveal nothing on social networking sites, whether it be their bad mood, relationship status or even drunken pictures of them on nights out and some people air absolutely everything online, from hurling insults at their ex's mother Jeremy Kyle style, telling the world how stoned they are and posting pictures of all the gear they looted in the riots on Facebook.
Exaggerations aside, I'm in the second party. There's some things that should be kept to yourself. I'm not buying into all this "with who" and "where" business on Facebook and I'm not even a one for statuses. My venting space is this pretty little box right here on Blogger. This past week I got called an attention seeker for retaliating to some homophobic status (skipping the irony here), but it really didn't bother me. Everybody that subscribes to some kind of social networking site is an attention seeker to some extent, and to be honest, if hundreds of people keep reading my blogs every day then I'm going to keep posting them aren't I!
We are all attention whores on the internet, whether that be posting 50 statuses a day about our "soulmate", taking picture after picture of ourselves all made up on webcam or WHATEVER.
Me posting the occasional rant on here makes me no worse than any of you little keyboard warriors because essentially, we're all doing the same thing via different mediums and to be honest, if Perez Hilton or Charlie Brooker or even Jaiden from Desperate Scousewives (yes, I have watched it and repented) never acted like total attention whores online then where would they be now? Not famous for their acid fingers I bet.
So yeah, newsflash to all you little people that don't seem to understand the concept of teenagers being allowed on the internet: this is what we do.
Being very opinionated, a budding journalist and having a lovely blank screen in front of me is obviously going to end in one thing, especially if stupid people continue to do stupid things that annoy me. Get over it. If people can't handle other people being vocal over the internet then maybe they should stop running their mouths off about everybody else.

I don't do this to get attention, I don't need to.
