Leave Daniel Radcliffe alone!

Why is it that humans are not capable of being genuinely happy for somebody that is far more successful than ourselves? I can understand people not being a fan Khloe Kardashian (there is a Khloe isn't there?) because she's only rich and famous because she happened to be born into the right family, because she's dumb and because her sisters or cousins or whatever they are are pretty, but why is it that we feel the need to hate on the people who actually work for a living and, as a result, become successful with what they do?
I could go on to write about every single famous person that has ever been attacked by the media but as a result of being very impressed with The Woman in Black yesterday, I'll stick to Daniel Radcliffe.
Now, Facebook has kindly been telling me that a lot of people on my friends list have been reading articles on The Guardian about Radcliffe. A couple of weeks ago these articles were informative, telling how Radcliffe has slept with fans (shocker, which celebrity hasn't?) and how he had an alcohol problem whilst filming some of the Harry Potter films but now they've started attacking him, piping on about how he needs to grow up and stop talking to the media about these things if he wants to be taken seriously as an actor.
Now, while being hypocritical in themselves (you can't really accuse someone of being immature while slagging them off over the internet, despite the fact that I do that regularly), the article in question http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/she-the-people/post/daniel-radcliffe-grow-up/2012/02/09/gIQAlBn1AR_blog.html?wprss=she-the-people was also fucking stupid. Indeed Radcliffe has spoken to the press about alcohol and sex but can he really be blamed? He's starring in a popular new film and is obviously going to be the centre of attention in the media for a while. He's probably been bombarded with questions about his sex life, and what is he supposed to do? Refuse to answer them? If so he'd probably be branded as in the closet or a Mormon or whatever other drivel The Daily Mail is capable of concocting.
It's fucking ridiculous.
What does a young actor have to do to be taken seriously nowadays? He's played the lead role in the film version of probably the most popular series of books to date, taken serious roles in musicals and theatre and now he's starring in the remake of a well-known horror film and he's not even 23 yet. I don't see "stars" such as Rebecca Black or whatever other vapid Disney star is hot at the moment being criticised half as much, despite the fact that they're probably far less serious about acting and more into the fame side of things than Radcliffe ever has been.
It would just be nice if people could be genuinely happy for others for a change, because I'd rather make my own successful career acting than be a journalist who is only reaches success through dragging people down.   On a more positive note, go and see The Woman in Black, it's brilliant.
