Revolutionary Road

I know I've already posted today but I just had to do a second post after watching Revolutionary Road. It's one of those rare films that actually touches you and leaves you in the same sombre mood long after it's ending.

While nothing happened throughout the entire duration of the film (apart from mundane everyday things such as going to work, going to dances, making love and arguing), it was a film that I was transfixed by purely because it was such an accurate study of relationships, mannerisms and the big lie that is Normal.

From the irony of the 'insane' guy from the 'funny farm' being more clued-up on the amount of bullshit in society to the cutting edge script and the stereotypes, it was spot on.

There were parts which made me laugh hysterically ("Can't I even escape you in the fucking forest?" and "You love me." "No I don't, I hate you. In fact, if you touch me or come any closer I think I may scream.") and parts that made me cry (but I won't disclose why as they will ruin the ending for anyone that reads this).

All in all, it was fantastic and I shall be buying the book, reading it, and then watching the film again.
