im fucked!!
What is eros? It is the love of that which we lack, it is also passionate love. It is Platonic love:'...that which he has not, that which he himself is not, and that which he is in want of, these are objects of desire and of love.' It is the love which takes, which seeks to possess, to retain. I love you: I want you. It is the simplest form of love. The most violent form of love. How can one not love what one misses? How can one love what one does not miss? This is the secret of passion (that it thrives only in absence, unhappiness, frustration). One must love that which one does not have and suffer, or have that which one no longer loves (for one loves only what one does not have) and be bored...The sufferings of passion, the sorrows of lovers: there is no such thing as a happy love (eros). But how can we be happy without love? And how can it be that, for as long as we love, we will never be happy?
