We're just starting to cover Flash Fiction in our creative writing seminars. I didn't know what it was before this week but now I do and it's amazing; for somebody who is as in love with words as I am, it's fascinating to challenge yourself to write a story in 90-100 words where every word counts. Today we had to write about lovers by a river. I don't know why but I wrote about infidelity, narrating from the perspective of a sociopath who is breaking up a relationship for kicks. I managed to get it all across in 107 words exactly and I was pretty amazed that a scene can be quite so short. I may put it up.
Anyway, I'm also going to Benicassim festival!! Been a bit stressed out as people have been backing out or just not letting me know whether they're still coming or not, but my friend Becca has said that YES she'd love to come, so now we're going, along with our friend Liam and his friends, it's going to be sweeeet.
I'm also spending time tonight, as I did last night, with somebody who actually interests me, and it's not often that I find somebody who can hold my attention span for longer than one date, despite what they may think.
It's all good, my faith is growing and growing, I'm starting to see the reasons behind things that I never used to understand and learn to trust that God will bring things and people in and out of our lives when they need to be brought in or out and that we shouldn't question any of it and just go with it because whatever happens is right.
I went to Liam's 24th birthday night out on Monday, then on Wednesday it was the university REC night, where all the societies get into fancy dress and drink together in the SU before heading onto a club. It was the best night out I've had in a while, despite Becky being upset that she'd be "forever alone" and me deciding at some point to get onto every single picture that was being taken and do strange things with my face.
