The last month has been amazing, as I've said over and over again, but for just over a week now, the place where I live in Salford has been getting quieter and quieter so I've been staying at home for the past few days, using the opportunity to see my friend Paige, who's back from Leeds for the summer, as well as have my friends over for drinks like I used to do while I was still at college, get two new tattoos and do my holiday shopping!
My tattoos are my grandmother's maiden name on my ribs (she comes from a family of incredibly strong Maltese and Italian women who have all had terrible starts in life but have all made something of themselves, and they're all so inspiring, especially my nan), and the titles of two biblical verses on my leg. I messed up the numbers with one but my tattooist has promised it's an easy mistake to rectify so as soon as they're healed I'm going back to get it touched up. The verses are about how those with strong, unwavering faith, always get what they want (a philosophy preached in The Secret by Rhonda Byrne) and one about how we should never worry or be anxious because everything always turns out okay in the end. The pictures I have are rubbish quality but I can promise that they're both beautiful tattoos and I love them :)
Money-wise, I'm really making it stretch. After I get back from my holiday in August I'm going to really try to get a job as a charity fundraiser so I'll be harassing people on Market St for £8.50 an hour but until then I have the £50 a week from my bursary (a fuck load of money I got for getting really good A Levels) to spend on my social life and whatever else I need. It sounds difficult but I'm managing so well, last week I had two nights out and my best friend's birthday meal at La Tasca followed by drinks, and then used the rest of my time doing free things, like sitting in my conservatory debating with the boys, having long chats about travelling with Paige and having DVD nights with my mum <3 Even though my beautiful best friend Josh has moved away, it wasn't a bad start to summer :)
All this leaves me with is my plans for the next four months or so until I'm back at uni! Between the 17th June and the 7th July, I have no home but my family home in Bury, and so I'm gonna be using that time to see all my old friends loads before going to Bedfordshire for a while to have a nice little detox in the countryside with my writing and I'm going to go berry-picking with my auntie and have loads of talks about religion with my friend Kate, who is the biggest Christian and loveliest woman ever.
I'm moving into my new place on the 7th, it's a beautiful town house in Salford and I have a huge bedroom which I'm going to spend the summer decorating in a blue and white nautical theme, and my own kitchen, so by September I'm going to have taught myself to cook because I'm sick of eating like a student!
I go to Spain on the 12th July for three weeks with my friend Becca. We're staying in my auntie's apartment because it's going to be empty, and we're going to have a gorgeous three weeks sunbathing, reading, drinking Mojitos and going to tapas and fish restaurants, I can't wait!
Obviously in August I'm hopefully going to have a job so I'll be living in Salford with my friends permanently and I'm going to use the two months to, as well as learning how to cook, really focus on my writing. My creative writing tutor always emails me with details of writing competitions and job opportunities so I'm going to enter some of those, as well as try to get a few really good, well-researched blog posts. When I'm not doing that I'm going to be having BBQ's in my very own backyard with my friends, having parties at my house and hopefully going out for meals and nights out as much as I can afford. It's my mum's birthday in August too so we're going to London to stay with my family and go to the theatre which I'm excited for! Also, if there are no clashes I hope to go to Gay Pride in Manchester with my friends. I've got a terrible feeling it's the weekend I'm in London but if not I'll definitely be getting my dance on for the whole weekend in the gay village :D
Then it'll be September. Three of my closest friends, Connor, Josh and Danny are moving abroad to study for a whole year so I'm planning on joining a couple of societies at my uni to make even more friends than I have already, it's going to be good :)
